Security Management was founded as Halo Security in 1988, by partners who had significant experience in the security and investigation market. We chose the Easter Island statues "Rapa Nui" as our Corporate Logo, with the Latin inscription of Vigilatia (Vigilence), Robour (Strength) and Scientia (Knowledge), to symbolize our commitment to protect residential and commercial clients in the Greater Toronto Area market. Much like the "Rapa Nui" and "Moaii" statues, who protected the residents of Easter Island from foreign invaders for thousands of years, it is our objective to be a strong and lasting company with a vision to provide effective long term security solutions to our market.
We started with offering professional uniformed security guard services to Residential and Commercial buildings in the GTA. Because of our background, we also offered private investigation services such as Background Checks, Surveillance and Integrity Testing.
In 1991, we recognized that many of our clients also had needs for systems to provide security and access, so we founded Security Management Systems. We started by supplying, installing and repairing CCTV equipment, including cameras, monitors and VCR's. This quickly expanded to a wide range of products that now includes:

We currently employ several hundred persons, including security officers, supervisors, technicians, managers and others. We provide permanent Guard Services and other related services for numerous condominiums, apartments, commercial buildings, hotels, distribution centers, etc.. We also supply, install and maintain electronic systems for hundreds of buildings in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). In 2005, after many years of renting office space, we purchased our own building and moved into our new corporate headquarters located in the Beaches area of Toronto.
Our fleet of marked service and supervisory patrol vehicles is now a familiar site on the landscape of condominiums and commercial buildings across Toronto. Our reputation for quality, professionalism, reliability, responsiveness and integrity has developed and grown over the years. We work closely with most of the residential and commercial property management companies throughout the GTA.
Our name has also evolved and we are now referred to as "Security Management" or by our acronym "SMS", by most of our clients. As we now provide virtually every type of security product and service required by a commercial or residential building, we are now recognized as a truly "Full Service" Security Company!
